A lot of people have dogs who are fearful of being handled at the vet, or at the groomer, and there is a resource I want to share with you that explains how to slowly work with your dog to give him more of a voice of consent in the matter, and to build up the trust such that he will become more cooperative. This is the book (from Amazon in the US but you can order the kindle version) https://a.co/d/9heMud3 . There is also a Facebook Group that uses the book and answers questions on applying the techniques. Dogs that have a lot of anxiety about this are sort of forced to bite if they have no choice or options and have not been carefully taught to be ok with this kind of handling. When they bite, the handling stops and that in itself is reinforcing to the dog. All dogs should be given lots and lots of training to make sure vet and groomer handling has a strong "reinforcement history"- ie, it's associated with yummy rewards. https://a.co/d/9heMud3
