January is TRAIN YOUR DOG MONTH and we're going to focus intently on the "come" command. If you're interested in following along, please start by downloading and printing out the training plan for this behavior. Read it all the way through, and see if you understand the progression. What word will you use for this behavior? I use "come" but some people use "here" or "aqui". Whatever word you choose, do not use that word outside of our training sessions. If you've already been using a word like "come" but you didn't know how to train this, and your dog sometimes ignores you, that word will not work anymore and you should choose a new word, and start from the beginning.
You should plan to have at least 3 (and ideally 5) short 5-minute training sessions for JUST this behavior, every day. Let's get started!
