My friend posted this today on Facebook and it shows the power of positive reinforcement. Look what a huge impact it has on her when she is able to apply effort in a way that is seen and appreciated. THAT is what we are doing when we train our dogs- we are setting them up to be successful in applying effort and then we acknowledge that we see it and appreciate it by marking the behavior and rewarding it. We want our dogs to feel “over the moon” too! “ I was awarded the Staff Member of the Month award at my school today, and I am over the moon! “
